Launching in 2012, Gidi originally made its impact of bringing a modern flair to evening wear. The founder and head designer, Taneasha Prunty always knew she had a passion for fashion. Inspired by her mother to begin designing at six (6) years old and dreamed of showcasing her collection during New York fashion week. Though she received a Bachelors in Finance from University of Illinois in Chicago, she knew the fashion industry was for her. Passionately following her heart has always been what fuels Taneasha to continue creating pieces that are effortless and classic. After completing a year-long residency at Macy’s Chicago Fashion Incubator, she knew that it was time to launch a line for the sophisticated woman. Running with her idea that every woman should invest in classic staples, she created a line of relaxed ready to wear garments. She ensures that every client feels confident while wearing Gidi and takes pride in knowing that her pieces are made with quality, are long-lasting and her customers can mix and match their wardrobe to wear for various occasions. With the goal of expanding her designs internationally, Taneasha constantly exemplifies showing that classic apparel does not have to live up to the typical norm.
